Madrid to face Bayern Munich, Liverpool draw Roma — UCL semifinals

In a forgettable La Liga season, Real Madrid should make the most of their Champions League bid and therefore have the best shot to win in 2018 and take home their third consecutive European title.

The semi finals draws for the UEFA Champions League have been concluded and back to back defending champions Real Madrid will face Bayern Munich while Liverpool will trade tackles AS Roma.

Liverpool got there for the first time in 10 years with a 5-1 aggregate victory over runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City but will not under-estimate Roma who on paper are the weakest side left but made the last four for the first time since 1984 - the season they ironically lost to Liverpool in the final - by knocking out Barcelona this week with a stunning comeback. I still think Cristiano Ronaldo is too much. Madrid have eliminated Bayern in 2014 and 2017.

"Every time I see the video clips of that night, I get goosebumps".

"It is truly historic to win two finals in a row and so obviously the prospect of reaching another final is an enormous source of motivation", he said.

The North London club's only European semi-final tie against Spanish opposition came in the 2005/06 Champions League tournament when they defeated Villarreal.

"It will be two difficult games because they are fantastic side", Klopp added.

"Ahora parece que no tiene mérito ganar La Liga" — Suárez
"Era normal que después de lo sucedido en la Champions , el público del Camp Nou, al igual que nosotros, estuviese enfadado". Pero los aficionados empezaron a llegar y el club informó que la concurrencia supera los 69.000 espectadores.

The second leg was outstanding, it was outstanding what they did.

"When you look at Roma's team, it doesn't strike fear into you, but they're going to be the team that doesn't mind making it ugly, whereas there other two would have tried to outplay Liverpool, which suits them".

Roma sporting director Monchi believes the tie also offers the Italians hope of progress. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich is now the most played Champions League matchup of all time. "Like Barcelona and Shakhtar, we have huge respect for them - but we have a chance".

The first leg will be played at Anfield on April 24 before the Stadio Olimpico hosts the second on May 2.

"It's a cracker, of course, a clash of giants in a positive sense", Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes said on his club's official website.

"We are in the semi final".
