Neymar's present and future lies with PSG, declares his father

Neymar's father has moved to end speculation over the star's future by stating that he will be remaining at Paris Saint-Germain, despite reports linking him to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

A return to Barcelona has been mooted, but it seems they do not have the financial capabilities to spring an offer; especially so after they splashed out roughly £250 million on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho to replace him.

Keeping the Brazilian star in Paris is a matter of prestige and Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had got personally involved.

Le Parisien stated in October that PSG players were unhappy with the special privileges Neymar receives at the club, and that damaged his relations with a number of his teammates.

In the wake of the rumours, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi flew to South America to hold talks with Neymar, who could miss the rest of the campaign with a foot injury.

Neymar's time at Paris Saint-Germain could be coming to a brief close after just one season, and the question remains; if he does leave, which club will the Brazilian choose?

That didn't seem to bother the president. "That was an authorized program at the time, that would no longer be legal", he said. President Donald Trump speaks on new Iran strategy at the White House in Washington D.C., the United States, on Oct. 13, 2017.

"Neymar is happy, highly motivated and excited to come back as soon as possible", Al-Khelaifi said.

Brazilian team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar has said that Neymar - transferred to PSG from Barcelona after the French club paid his 222 million-euro ($264 million) buyout clause last August - will need at least two and a half months, maybe three, to return to action.

"I am thinking as Rakitic does, I would like to have here the best players and Neymar is one of them", said fellow Brazil worldwide Coutinho, who arrived from Liverpool in January. Brazil's national team are hoping he will be back to full fitness in time to help lead them at the World Cup starting in Russian Federation on June 14.

The Ligue 1 leaders lost the second leg 2-1 at home while their attacking talisman recovered from surgery.

The same goes for City boss Pep Guardiola, who sees Neymar as the man to replace Sergio Aguero in his frontline.
