Asus' new ZenFone Max Plus smartphones feature Face Unlock

Like the ZenFone Max before it, the ZenFone Max Plus sports an aluminum body and a dual main camera setup. At CES 2018 the company announced that it will also arrive to the US and Canada. The multi-touch display offers great response to your inputs. (Though the feature was made available on Android in Ice Cream Sandwich in 2012, it was quietly removed, probably because it was terrible and Google wanted to push people toward fingerprint sensors). The phone also features Mali-T860MP2 GPU onboard. The ZenFone Max, the ZenFone series's larger smartphone (in terms of screen size) has larger-than-average batteries, and the newest model isn't any different. You can expand the phone's memory upto 256GB by using a microSD card on it.

The bad news about this phone is that it will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Up front, the device flaunts an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. There's also a 16MP snapper on the front. Selfies can be taken at 8 MP as well. Other sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass are also available on the device. ZenFone Max Plus has the stamina to go the distance, and lets photo-lovers see the bigger picture with a wider range of creative options - all in a stylish metal design that's ergonomic and comfortable to hold.

Connectivity features that the Asus smartphone comes bundled with include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, a micro USB port, a fingerprint sensor and other standard aspects. The phone features its own facial recognition technology which allows you to unlock your device just by looking at the display.

North America will get the Zenfone Max Plus (M1) in February in two colors - Deepsea Black and Azure Silver. ZenFone Max Plus has a high-capacity, high-density 4130mAh battery that not only gives it incredible staying power, but also contributes to its unbelievably compact dimensions.

Besides announcing the pricing of the ZenFone Max Plus (M1), Asus did reveal that the company has sold over five million units of smartphones under the ZenFone Max lineup comprising of the ZenFone Max, ZenFone 3 Max, ZenFone 4 Max and ZenFone 4 Max Pro.
